6 functional tips to add life to HARD WOODEN floor

Proper care of hardwood floors is essential if you want them to last a long time. In fact, routine cleaning is the key to protecting and maintaining your floor’s look. But you need some particular cleaning protocols to be followed to prevent damage to the floor’s surface and keep it shining and glossy for years.  Aside from regular cleaning, damage can be minimized by observing a few maintenance and prevention measures. The durability of your hardwood floors can be well-kept with regular cleaning and proper maintenance.

Dust Daily with a Microfiber Mop

Microfiber cloths trap dirt particles, pet hair and other household allergens with stagnant electricity power. Microfiber mop pads are more effective and safer than sweeping with a broom. When dusting with a microfiber mop, lift it off the floor as little as possible so that the dirt stays firmly trapped on the pad.

Cleaning with Soft Cotton Cloth

Daily dusting is your best line of defensive against scratches and surface damage which can be caused by dirt that comes with shoes. For best results, dust every day with a cloth.

Follow a Regular Cleaning Routine

Regular cleaning is of course one of the simplest and the most effective things you can do to keep your hardwood floors looking great and damage-free. Make a cleaning routine and stick to it.

Polish your Floor

Polish floor every two to three months if it has a surface finish. This will help finish seal and protect the wood underneath and give your floor a glossy shine. Normal wear and tear will eventually leave visible scratches and make the surface dull. Polishing floor time to time can renew and refresh its appearance by restoring shine.

Wooden Floor Don’t Like Sunlight

Yess! it sounds strange but its truth your floors can discolor in direct sunlight. Use protective window coverings, to protect from heat and UV rays such as curtains and blinds. If you like bright rooms while upholding hardwood floor well then use vertical blinds to block UV rays and protect the wood from excessive heat.

Use Appropriate Rug and Mates

Be sure to use floor mats that are made of specifically for hardwood floors. Other types of mats, such as rubber-backed and non-ventilated hard mats, can trap moisture and wreckage underneath, causing surface damage to the floor.
